1926 remodel of church

We have local roots:

Torrington, Wyoming

These believers first built a santuary when a minister from another area, i.e., Colorado, returned to argue for the wisdom of a church plant in Torrington, WY. They built and opened in 1906 only to have the church burn to the ground in 1907! Not to be deterred from God’s purposes, they rebuilt bigger and reopened in 1909!

We have national roots:

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Pictured is Old Pinestreet Church in Philadelphia where American Presbyterians held their first General Assembly in 1789.

We have denominational & confessional roots:

Evangelic

al Presbyterian Church: EPC

We have credal roots:

The Ecumenical Creeds

Our supreme root:

Holy Scripture

While roots of various sources are important, none can compare with Apostolic roots found in Scripture. Therefore, Holy Scripture, is our most life-imparting root. It is that which ‘norms’ all other roots. We affirm the Reformation’s principle of sola Scriptura (Scripture alone), which means, in the final analysis, Scripture’s authority is supreme and final above all other forms of authority.
